Job Title: Worship Leader

Location: First Baptist Church, Augusta, Kansas

Overview: First Baptist Church of Augusta is seeking a dynamic and passionate Worship Leader to join our ministry team. The Worship Leader will play a vital role in facilitating worship experiences for our congregation.  The Worship Leader will demonstrate Christ-like character to the church body as he/she leads them in loving Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and sharing Jesus, through music and arts.

  • • A committed and mature follower of Jesus Christ, with a personal relationship with Him and a passion for leading others in worship.

    • Proficiency in playing either the piano or guitar, with the ability to lead congregational singing and accompany vocalists and instrumentalists.

    • Strong musical skills, including sight-reading, arranging, and understanding of music theory.

    • Experience in leading worship in a church or ministry setting, with a demonstrated ability to engage congregants of diverse backgrounds and ages.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

    • Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances and worship styles, with a willingness to learn and grow in worship leadership.

    • Commitment to upholding the values and beliefs of First Baptist Church of Augusta

  • • Lead and coordinate all aspects of music worship for Sunday services, midweek gatherings, special events, and seasonal celebrations.

    • Select appropriate music pieces in collaboration with the pastor and other team members that align with the overall theme and message of each service.

    • Rehearse and train volunteer musicians, vocalists, and worship team members to ensure excellence in performance and spiritual engagement.

    • Lead congregational singing, utilizing both traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs, while encouraging active participation and worshipful atmosphere.

    • Play either the piano or guitar proficiently during worship services, providing musical accompaniment and leading the congregation in worship.

    • Foster a spirit of unity and teamwork within the worship team, nurturing a culture of worship that honors God and edifies the church body.

    • Work in concert with the production team (Audio/Video)

    • Support the vision of First Baptist Church Augusta.
