Isaiah 27 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO
In that day the Lord with his hard and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the twisting serpent, and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea. Isaiah 27:1 – I must note up front that there are a few different ways people like to explain this passage, but the one I personally see as the meaning is this is speaking of Satan. A twisting serpent that is fleeing the hand of the Lord and His mighty sword sure seems to be describing our common enemy. I know personally I need passages like this one to remind me who is truly in charge. For the enemy talks a big game, and often can carry out some pretty nasty hits on our life too. After our study of Job, it’s clear that the enemy when allowed can wreak havoc on our lives. Yet, who has ultimate control? Who does the enemy ultimately get defeated by? Whose mighty hand and sword slays Satan? Our God’s. Yes, we have a loud, active, and smart enemy that is very creative at instilling fear and doubt within us. Remember though we have a God that is greater than our enemy. A God that has defeated and will slay the enemy one day. Move forward then in confidence knowing that while the enemy is coming, the Lord has already come. He will defend, He will protect, and He will save. That’s the God we serve. I love you, but Jesus loves you more - Mac
Question To Ponder: Who can you be praying for that is feeling the pressure of the enemy?
